Blooket is good for what it was built for: turning a set of review questions into a game that students want to replay. It is a weaker fit if you need more than a low-stake quiz, or review activities that cater to older student groups. This review covers what Blooket does, what it costs, where it falls short and who should use it.
Every Blooket fact below comes from Blooket's own Help Center and privacy policy, read in October 2026. Prices come from other sources, for the reason explained in the pricing section.
Blooket in 30 seconds
- Hva det er: a free quiz-game platform where a teacher picks or writes a question set, chooses a game mode and hosts it live or sets it as homework.
- Best for: review sessions in primary and secondary classrooms. Blooket says its gameplay suits "students from early elementary to high school and beyond".
- Gratis plan: unlimited question sets and live games of up to 60 players.
- Betalt plan: Blooket Plus, reported at about $4.99 a month when billed yearly (see pricing below).
- Vår dom: 4 out of 5 for classroom review games, 2 out of 5 as a general tool for training or meetings.
How Blooket works
Ifølge teacher quick start guide, the flow is short:
- Sign up for a free teacher account.
- Find a question set. Blooket says there are more than 20 million sets made by other users, or you can write your own.
- Velg Host, pick a game mode and adjust the settings.
- Share the game code, QR code or join link. Students join at play.blooket.com.
- Start the game, then open the report when it ends.

Students do not need accounts. Only the teacher does, although students who sign up can unlock Blooks, track stats and play solo games. You can also assign a set as homework with a due date.
For question writing, Blooket's question types page lists multiple choice and typing answer. You can also generate a draft set with Khan Academy's Khanmigo Blooket generator, which needs a free Khanmigo teacher account. Blooket warns that Khanmigo makes mistakes, so check every question before you play.
Game modes: the main reason teachers pick Blooket
Blooket's game mode previews list more than 25 modes. The same question set works in most of them, so you can repeat a review without repeating the format.
Five modes are Plus-only: Busy Bees, Coco Cabana (Cocoa Cottage in winter), Laser Tag, Mini Mine and Star Grazer. A handful, such as Study, Pirate Pool and Zorblitz, are solo or homework only. Each mode shows a player range, an ideal time (most are 5 to 10 minutes) and a difficulty before you host.
What Blooket costs
Blooket price starts from $4.99 to $9.99 per month.
- The Plus perks list: plus game modes, folders, larger live games, enhanced reports, a question bank, verified curriculum sets, copy and duplicate, audio questions, longer deadlines, set merging and 10 bonus tokens for students after every game.
- Plus raises the player cap from 60 to 300, but the Game Mode Previews page shows Racing, Laser Tag, Mini Mine and Star Grazer staying at 60.
- Gruppeplaner are bought through a quote, not a fixed price list.
Blooket pros
- Students ask to play again. The game layer is the product. Modes like Gold Quest and Tower Defense turn the same questions into different experiences.
- A real free plan. The free tier has no cap on question sets and hosts up to 60 players, which covers most single classes.
- Fast to start. Pick one of millions of public sets, host and share a code. Students join without an account.
- Homework mode. You can set a due date and let students choose their own game mode to reach the goal.
- Light privacy footprint for students. Players only need a nickname, and the host can switch on random names.
- Cheap to upgrade. Plus is inexpensive at the reported price.

Blooket cons
- Game first, assessment second. Blooket labels several modes "speed and luck", for example Gold Quest, Fishing Frenzy and Busy Bees. In those modes a score can reflect chance as much as knowledge, so they suit practice more than grading.
- Thinner reports on the free plan. Free reports show class accuracy, a leaderboard and per-player stats. The question-by-question breakdown and spreadsheet download are Plus features.
- Only two documented question types. Multiple choice and typing answer cover recall well. You will not find polls, open-ended answers or word clouds, so it cannot open a discussion.
- No slide-based lessons. You cannot teach with Blooket and then quiz inside the same deck.
- School networks can block it. Blooket has a help page for this: a Google Workspace administrator has to approve it.
- Built for schools. Nothing in the product targets corporate training, onboarding or events.

Is Blooket safe for students?
Blooket's privacy policy (last updated 1 June 2026) says student information is never used for third-party advertising and children's personal information is never sold or rented. It allows children under 13 to hold accounts only with parental or school consent, in line with COPPA. Students can play a hosted game with just a nickname.
That is the company's own statement, not an audit. Your school's data protection lead should still approve any tool that handles student data. As with any open game, set the game to random names or ask for real names, and watch for inappropriate nicknames.

Ofte stilte spørsmål
Is Blooket good?
Yes, for classroom review games. Students enjoy the game modes, setup takes minutes and the free plan is generous. It is less suited to graded tests, adult audiences or sessions that need polls and discussion.
Is Blooket free?
Yes. Blooket says all essential features are free, with unlimited question sets and games of up to 60 players. Plus adds more players, extra modes and fuller reports.
Is Blooket Plus worth it?
It depends on your use. Plus is worth it if you host groups above 60, want the question-level reports or use the Plus-only modes every week. If you run one class of 30 and want the games, the free plan is enough.
How much does Blooket Plus cost?
Reported prices are about $4.99 a month billed yearly, or about $9.99 on the monthly Plus Flex plan, as of October 2026. Blooket shows its prices inside your account, so confirm there before you pay.
Is Blooket safe for kids?
Blooket says it does not use student data for third-party advertising and does not sell children's data. Children under 13 need parental or school consent for an account. Review the policy with your school before use.
Do students need an account to play Blooket?
No. Only the teacher needs an account. Students join with a game code, QR code or link, though an account lets them unlock Blooks and track stats.
How many players can join a Blooket game?
Up to 60 on the free plan, and up to 300 on Plus for most modes. Racing, Laser Tag, Mini Mine and Star Grazer stay capped at 60.

It depends on the gap. Quizizz and Gimkit are the closest game-style options, while AhaSlides suits teams who need polls, word clouds and quizzes in one deck.
