It was 2019. Our founder Dave was stuck in yet another forgettable presentation. You know the kind: text-heavy slide and blank stares.As Dave checked his phone, he had a thought:
What if presentations could be more engaging? Not just more fun, but actually more effective?
That's when our story began. We started by helping presenters wake up their audiences by adding live polls, quizzes and word clouds to their slides.
Suddenly, everyone in the room (or on the call during Covid!) had a way to participate.
Since then, more than 4 million presenters around the world have used AhaSlides to create engaging live moments of their own.
We really believe in the live experience. Always have, always will. But along the way, we realised something: people don't only engage during live presentations. They also engage when a team needs to make a decision, or when feedback is needed. When colleagues share an idea or when people come together to solve a problem.
That's why we're building AhaSlides into a bigger platform that makes engagement easier wherever people work, teach and learn.

We're excited about AI. Very excited, actually. It can help us create, organise, understand and accomplish things that once took much, much longer.
But there's something we want to be clear on: we don't believe the point of AI is to need people less. Rather, the point should be to give people more room to do the things only people can do. Such as teach, listen, care, connect, challenge each other or create something together. Those wonderfully human aha pillanatok that, to be honest, we’ve come to live for at AhaSlides.
While AI can take on more of the work around engagement, the outcome is still something humans should own and cherish.

AhaSlides has grown from Southeast Asia, a region full of different languages, cultures, perspectives and ways of seeing the world. We see that diversity as a strength. We don't believe great technology has to come from Silicon Valley. Or that a company needs to disguise where it comes from to succeed globally.
We want to build technology that people everywhere love, while staying connected to the people and places that made us. Which is why we’re proudly Southeast Asian but made for people everywhere.
And we're only just getting started.
