Common questions
Can I run powered industrial trucks (forklift) - Classroom portion training online?
The course itself is self-paced and online, and the live deck lets you add a live session. Whether online delivery meets your local rules depends on the law that applies to you, so check 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)-(6) or ask your own counsel.
How often is this training needed?
Before operating + practical evaluation; refresher when unsafe operation, accident/near-miss, evaluation finding, new truck type or workplace change; evaluation at least every 3 years (l)(4).
Who needs this training?
Trainee and existing operators of forklifts, pallet jacks (powered), order pickers, reach trucks (warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, retail backrooms, lumber yards); must be 18+ in non-agricultural employment (FLSA HO 7).
What records should I keep?
Record completion in your own LMS or record system, so you can show who finished the course and when. Check the retention period that applies to you in 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)-(6).
Can I edit the content?
Yes, everything. Change the wording, swap scenarios for ones from your workplace, add your logo, or remove parts that don't apply. Keep anything your own law requires you to cover.
