FAQ
Common questions
Can I run Canada (federal): Harassment & violence prevention training online?
The course itself is self-paced and online, and the live deck lets you add a live session. Whether online delivery meets your local rules depends on the law that applies to you, so check Canada Labour Code Part II, s.122 or ask your own counsel.
How often is this training needed?
Employees within 3 months of starting, then at least every 3 years and after any update to training (SOR/2020-130 s.13); designated recipient: before assuming duties + every 3 years; employer: every 3 years.
Who needs this training?
Employees of federally regulated workplaces (banks, airlines, rail and interprovincial transport, telecom, broadcasting, ports, federal Crown corporations, federal public service); variants: employer/managers, designated recipients.
What records should I keep?
Record completion in your own LMS or record system, so you can show who finished the course and when. Check the retention period that applies to you in Canada Labour Code Part II, s.122.
Can I edit the content?
Yes, everything. Change the wording, swap scenarios for ones from your workplace, add your logo, or remove parts that don't apply. Keep anything your own law requires you to cover.
