Try some questions from the course

Question 1 of 3

What went wrong at the service desk?

Long speeches force the interpreter to summarise. Speaking to the person, in short segments, keeps every detail.

Lesson 1, Why it matters, teaches this. See the outline

Question 2 of 3

Which is true of sign language?

Sign languages such as ASL, BSL and Auslan are full languages, so a sign language interpreter is needed, not a signed version of English.

Lesson 2, The interpreter's role, teaches this. See the outline

Question 3 of 3

Who should you look at while speaking?

Speak and look at the person. The interpreter is the bridge, not the audience.

Lesson 3, Before the session, teaches this. See the outline
